This post was written by Reka Kluver, founder of Omaha Counseling.
If you’re in need of counseling services in the Omaha area, you’re no doubt aware of the many options you have for counselors and practices. In the end, a lot of your choice will be personal: in your search, you want to be sure to find someone who matches your personality.
While us counselors may all be doing the same kind of work, I can say that I bring a different perspective than you may find elsewhere. Much of this unique perspective comes from the fact that I was born and raised in London, England. I’ve also traveled extensively; the sum of all this is that I’ve been around many different people and take different ideas from my time in England and elsewhere. Travel may not be the answer to everything, but it has given me a great understanding of what it takes to communicate with many different types of people in a variety of different situations.
In my counseling work, I try to create a safe environment that’s inviting. I want you to feel like I’m a good fit for your needs and that you’re a good fit for working with me—this is a collaborative effort. I can help you feel comfortable. A key to good counseling is being able to tell secrets and express yourself in whatever way makes you feel most comfortable. Although I may be human and as such, have some biases, I’m always here for you to help you look at things differently.
All of this is to say that I can help you work through your difficulties and provide my objective opinion on exploring things you haven’t explored before; I’m empathetic and while I may push a little bit, that’s really the point. That’s really what counseling is all about—exploring any issues you may want to explore and trying to get a different perspective on things. That only happens if you’re able to talk to someone who can offer a new perspective, and if nothing else I can promise you a different worldview and experiences that can help you work through whatever help you may need in different ways than you’ve looked at things before.
Of course, there’s only so much you can learn about me here with words on a page. If you’re interested in working together and would like to learn more about me or any of the services I offer, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via our contact page, or via Twitter or Facebook. I would be happy to have an initial conversation with you to help you discover if I would be a good fit for your needs.
